Everything about RBI Assistant Exam 2017
RBI will conduct RBI Assistant 2017 to recruit candidates for the Post of Assistant for its various branches all over the country. Since, it is a National Level Exam, RBI has invited applications from all the sections of India. After the release of RBI Assistant 2017 Notification by RBI, candidates can apply online for this post. For final selection for the post of RBI Assistant 2017, RBI Exam Conducting Body will select a candidate on the basis of his/her performance in the Online Mains Examination, Biometric Verification and Language Proficiency Test (LPT). RBI will use the overall performance of the candidates in the exam in order of merit to prepare the list of candidates being selected for the post of RBI Assistant.
RBI Assistant 2017 Notification
RBI has published the notification of RBI Assistant 2017 exam. 623 vacancies for RBI Assistant 2017 Exam have been introduced by Reserve Bank of India (RBI). However, RBI has the right to increase/ decrease the number of vacancies as per requirement or in case of not filling up vacancies. * However RBI reserves the right to change the dates of examination of RBI Assistant 2017, if this happens, the same will be intimated by the RBI.
RBI Assistant 2017 Salary and Posting
An RBI Assistant’s Basic Pay is Rs. 14,650/- per month. Along with Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance (TA) etc. are also given to a RBI Assistant. Therefore, an RBI Assistant’s Average Gross Salary is approximately Rs. 32,528/- per month.
Initially an RBI Assistant will be posted in RBI’s Office within the Recruitment Zone for which a candidate had applied. However, they are liable to be transferred in administrative exigencies to centres into West, South, North and East Zone offices as under:
(a) West Zone: Ahmedabad, Bhopal (including Raipur), Mumbai (including Belapur, Pune and Panaji), Nagpur.
(b) South Zone: Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Thiruvananthapuram (including Kochi).
(c) North Zone: Chandigarh (including Shimla), Jaipur, Jammu / Srinagar, Kanpur, (including Lucknow & Dehradun), New Delhi.
(d) East Zone: 11 Bhubaneswar, Guwahati (including all North Eastern states excluding Gangtok), Kolkata (including Gangtok), Patna (including Ranchi)
RBI Assistant 2017 Online Application Fees
General and OBC Candidates are required to pay Rs. 450 and Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD are required to pay Rs. 50 as application fee for RBI Assistant 2017 Exam. Candidates can pay the online application fee by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets.
However, RBI staff has been exempted to pay application fee, i.e., no application fee is required to be paid by the RBI staff.
Candidates can print application form containing fee details (if paid any) after successful submission of online application form. Further, Candidates are advised to carefully fill their details in the online application form, as no change is permitted after clicking on FINAL SUBMIT Button and also no correspondence regarding change in details will be entertained by RBI Exam Conducting Body.
RBI Assistant 2017 Eligibility
Nationality: A candidate must be a citizen of India
Age Limit: A candidate must be between 20-28 years of age to be eligible for RBI Assistant 2017 Exam. He/she must have been born between 02.10.1989 and 01.10.1997. However, age relaxation is granted to candidates who belonged to reserved category. The age relaxations in upper age are as under:

|OBC||3 years, i.e. up to 31 years|
|PWD||10 years (General Candidates), 13 years (OBC Candidates), 15 (SC/ST Candidates)|
|Ex-Servicemen||To the extent of service rendered by them in Armed Forces plus an additional period of 3 years subject to maximum of 50 years.|
|Widows /Divorced Women/Women judicially separated and not re-married/||10 years|
|Candidates having working experience in RBI||Maximum of 3 years|
|Candidates domiciled in the state of J & K during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989||5 years|
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks and above in any discipline is required for the RBI Assistant Exam 2017. A Candidate must be proficient in the official language of the state/Union Territory for which he/she has applied.
RBI Assistant 2017 Exam Centre
Since, RBI Assistant 2017 exam is an online mode examination which will be conducted across various centers in India. Exam centres will be allotted to candidates as per preferences provided by them while submitting their RBI Assistant application form. Candidates are advised to take precaution while selecting their exam center as RBI Exam Conducting Body will not entertain any request for change of centre for Examination (preliminary as well as main). However, due to unavailability of seats at a preferred/opted center RBI Exam Conducting Body may change the centre without prior notice to the candidate. This change of exam center will be reflected in the call letter of the candidate.
RBI Assistant 2017 Exam Pattern
RBI Exam conducting Body will conduct RBI Assistant Exam 2017 in three phases, namely: Prelims, Mains and Language Proficiency Test.
The preliminary examination consists of three sections which are English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. Preliminary examination will be of qualifying in nature, which means marks scored in the preliminary examination will not be counted for the final selection.

Further, the mains exam has been divided into five different sections: Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge.

* Separate time will be given for each section. This means a candidate will not be able to switch between sections in mains examination.
There is negative marking for the wrong answers attempted by the candidates in objective tests (Preliminary and Main Examination). No marks will be deducted if the question is left unanswered or blank. 1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Based on the performance of mains examination provisionally selected candidates will be called for Language Proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned. It is important to mention here that candidate not proficient in the Official/Local Language would be disqualified.
Along with online main examination and Language proficiency test, Biometric verification will also play a role in the final selection of RBI Assistant 2017 Exam. Captured Biometric data and photograph of the candidates on the day of main examination will be used for verification of the candidates at a later stage.

RBI Assistant 2017 Call Letter
Since, RBI Assistant Exam 2017 is an online mode examination, call letters can be downloaded online, and link of the same will be shared by RBI on its website. To download the call letter, a candidate will have to login to official website by using following details:

RBI Assistant 2017 Results
RBI will release a list containing Roll Nos. of successful candidates in preliminary online examination in December 2017. Subsequently, a similar list of successful candidates in main online examination will be available on RBI’s website and a brief notice thereof will be published on the Bank’s website in January 2018/ February 2018. It is important that candidates keep visiting the official website as well as this page regularly to see their results. Overall performance in the Online Mains Examination, Biometric Verification and Language Proficiency Test (LPT) is required to successfully clear RBI Assistant 2017 exam.
RBI Assistant 2017 Cut Off
The cut off for the RBI Assistant Exam 2017 will be released by RBI after the completion of the examination. We can expect the cut off to be same as the RBI Assistant Exam 2016.
